I dont know about the rest of you, but I prefer making my own PCB's

.
My suggestion is simple; willing to share your schematics? -I sure would, if I've got anything of use to others on PL.

It would also be a great way to discuss changes to both new and existing designs of single sided / dual layer pcb's.

I'm having trouble seeing this circuit working...
It is really difficult to get + 15V and -15V from a 24Volt DC
input supply...

the way it is shown...

I see the input has been changed from DC to AC.... now it will work

I will have to look at it more. I have never seen a way to make bipolar from a single supply with out a switching buck or boost circuit.

I think it's supposed to be 24V AC.

Oh god, what a typo...

It's supposed to say 24Vac, of course!
That other 24Vdc was still there from another schematic.

Edit: fixed it.

That will only work if the negative end of your source is floating with respect to ground. Most lab type power boxes can do this, but if you use a standard power brick or wall wart, the earth (ground) is connected to the negative end through the DC power socket.

If you have a supply with floating ground, all you need is a few capacitors and LM78xx/79xx regulators to 'split up' the supply into a positive and a negative supply. The actual ground goes right in between.

Since I've got plenty of 12VAC and 9VAC wall warts lying around, along with just as much 1N4002 diodes, I'm building from the AC route.

I don't have any laser related PCBs on hand, but I have a few designs up on my website, mostly in the GPS tracking section. If you have any questions on tesla coils or other high voltage toys feel free to ask, I have done a lot more than I have had time to write about.

Yea, I was hoping to get a specific place to post schematics

, mostly for building lasers but other stuff is fun as well ofc!
