My ilda board is designed to be simple to implement as long as you are cool with doing a certain level of rewiring. The manual can be downloaded from our main website and this should explain all but we are happy to help (as Im sure mr DRM916 and others would attest) you with implementing our system into your projectors.
This system has helped lots of people achieve a good solid solution to wiring interlocks and e-stops and in the US helped to obtain variance. A number of laser projector manufacturers use their own OEM versions to get the same easy route to compatibilty and variance and LVR here in the UK speak highly of the system.
We are very proud that we provide the only solution (that we know of) that has all the requirements of BS:EN60825 (something that many CE marked professional laser projectors do not achieve) built into one easy to use board.
Anyone with questions fire me an email.
    Rob

    EDIT
PS of all the boards out there in laser land (including the ones we use in our own projectors) there has never been a known failure. They have proved very robust in the field.
If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

I love my Stanwax boards. Helped me meet all the requirements necessary for my USA variance. I highly recommend them.

good info. i just did the LSO course and want to make my projectors legal. looks like stanwax saves the day. if you can provide any of your variance application paperwork, that would be really excellent.

that might be something handy to put in the PL wiki for us americans.

    thanks!

I will be honest - I have not been exposed to the variance process directly but I have answered questions rasied during clients applications and provided various data sheets info and drawings (some of which are going to appear on my downloads page soon), and have had responses that show that the inclusion of this system has more than greased the wheels of the process.

    Yes drm916 and stanwax,
@drm916 we need a thread on the LS Pluto's and what to do to them and what to write in on whatever (every) 'paper' involved.
AND, drm916 I owe you a big thank you for your helping in my making my decision, bradfo69 and bungy, you also!

This Legalization of Pluto would be highly appreciated

Oh! and another thing that I never got a clear answer on:
Was this US distributor of the Lightspace Pluto II's around at the time this last (not christmas, before) Group Buy was happening?

I have an uncomfortable feeling, thinking that the answer is yes.. and wondering WTF!

    Regrettably, I believe so: http://www.laserrentalsinc.com/

I just don't know cost. I'm certain buying from Lightspace, making the mods and getting the paperwork done was still the cheaper route.

What does anyone know about Walt Meador? Looks like they only carry a few models though - and not the 2.5 watt most of us have. Although, the USA page also seems to include the Leo and LS-RGB-700.

I also don't know how they got them approved with the DMX & touchscreen boards.

I think there was one other US company selling these that I stumbled across last year too but information was vague. I think somewhere along the line a phone call or e-mail investigating this is in order.

I've known Walt for years (since the late 90's?), he's one of the old guard of laser dogs. He's been around since the late 70's/early 80's. He's above board on his projectors, and everything he sells has gotten the proper paperwork from the feds.

All the projectors I've seen from him recently aren't using the touchscreens, but they do look like retro-fitted Lightspace projectors.

I personally have never had any bad experiences with him. Give him a call if you have any questions.

I've spoken to Walt about the Lightspace projectors,
from what I gather, he does have the variance for them (colorray series), but you have to buy the Lightspace projectors through him, he retrofits a shutter, delay, and required stickers, to get them U.S. legal.
Also , I've heard that he is a reputable guy to deal with. I met him at LDI last year AT the Lightspace booth, nice guy! and helpful.
I also looked up his variance , and he is legit.
If your looking to get a U.S. legal / variance projector from Lightspace, he is the only one that I know of , that currently does this.
Also, when I met him, he was actually at the Lightspace booth, so he has some sort of agreement with them, for importing them.

This is all new to me, I did a bit of looking them up and this rental company, laserrentalsinc states they 'did' a lasershow at the Mall of America, Grand opening day.
I was at that, in line, the first people in.. there were no lasers, yet it was daytime, morning? if they happened at that evening I cannot be sure... no no no... I would had heard about it and NOT missed it, I lived there then, Bloomington.

11 Months ago at the Mall of America, Bloomington Minnesota

Formerly know as "Camp Snoopy" (it was a SAD thing to hear how royalties, copyright or whatever crap took the CS name away from this place)
and now as Nickelodeon Universe, they now (-somebody- did, 11 months ago) have a 'Universe of Light" show at Nickelodeon Universe.
I am calling them today.. Yet I have nothing like that yet, see all those projection points? I am just curious (Snoopy) who is or was doing this.
I look at this picture again... I do not think those are lasers.

This image is exactly what I envisioned, I had even called them suggesting such a thing back around their beginning.
While I was still living in MN dsl Jon had even put up a bunch of lasertools for sale and I was thinking 'If now, I could work something out with the Moa..."
Similarly this Moon-Raker guy has me going again.. sparks of inspiration, If I'd only get my shit together... back&neck problems, chronic pain and lifestyle. FFS
