BTW, if you can stop the fan with your fingers not requiring a trip to the ER, you probably have the wrong fan

Your fine in the fan department... How long is the duct length? length is bad, but each bend is a 30+% reduction in airflow...

Ghetto, my foot... Well Done! Proper sized fan, short air path, and proper tapered nozzle. Add a short section of rubber for vibration damping and you'd be all set.
