You should send a 532 and a 473 module to a trusted member for testing and review.

    Cool

If you're looking for a beta tester, I'm willing to do the review. As to whether I'm trustworthy or not, I'll leave that for others to confirm.

First, I make it a policy to *never* accept free items when I do reviews. In the case of the scanner reviews I've done for LaserShowParts.com (for the last 3 years now), the scanners are always donated as door prizes for SELEM when the reviews are done. (Also note that I never participate in the door prize drawings at SELEM.) And when I reviewed that 80 mw DPSS blue laser for Dragon Lasers, I turned them down on their offer to allow me to purchase it for $400. As it turned out, another forum member (Astroguy) wanted it, so they allowed him to buy it instead. But I never keep the items I review, nor do I accept payment for doing a review. To do otherwise would suggest that I was being less than impartial. I fail to see how this in any way qualifies me as a "vulture".

Second, the advertised price of $455 for a 300 mw green is only about $70 cheaper than the posted price on LaserShowParts.com for a LaserWave unit. So if this new laser is of equal quality and dirability, it would be an interesting deal. But understand that there are other laser brands that are much cheaper than this. So as Doc mentioned, it *might* be a good deal, but then again it might not. Until someone does a review of it, it's an unknown quantity.

And finally, given the large number of people here on PL who have already been burned by laser manufacturers that lie about their product specifications (IE: Laserworld), any new vendor is going to be greeted with skepticism. That's not a case of us being "vultures", it's a case of a community looking out for it's own interests.

If you disagree, then I suggest you spend your own money, buy one of these lasers, and then tell us all about it. But *I'm* not going to take that chance, and I suspect there are few others here who will either.

On the other hand, if the vendor is confident in his product, then he should be willing to submit one for independent testing and review. Of course, the laser will be returned to him afterward, and at that point he can keep it as a demonstrator model or sell it at a discount. But at least there will be independent confirmation of his product's specs.

for TTL modulation only, it's not very competitive with Laserwave analogue mod heads, and more expensive if you factor in duty costs in the UK

The beamspecs are quite well but they dont have an OEM driver as standard. But shawn is very flexable and would supply them with the 5V driverboard and heatsink. Only the driver needs a very good stable powersupply with a peak to peak riple from only 20mv. If its more it could effect the lifetime of the laser.
I use a traco 5v and they are good quality. The rendement of the traco is 90% and compared to other manufacturers very good so i think to find a 5v/20 amps powersupply to power all lasers with a riple of 20mw peak to peak is a needle in a hay stack.

Ripple is usually speced at full load, if you over-dimension your supply ripple should decrease accordingly.

But when supply-voltage is that critical to a driver, it's not worth supplying in the first place, imho.
