ID:	15976I have a few items here that came with some past Ebay auctions, hoping someone might know what they are,or at least some educated guesses.

No.1 is this lovely device from Coherent,it sports a BNC jack,a small knurled knob that appears to move something inside the housing, and was attached to a HeNe (possibly a GreNe) head when I got it.
    Model 304 s/n 3153

The 304 should be an AOM (acousto-optic modulator). You'll still need a driver for this module - I've got the documentation on this archived somewhere...

For me it looks rather like an EOM. I have a Coherent EOM that looks very similar, however it's bigger and has two BNCs.

The second one looks like it could be a resonant scanner ...

B is a General Scanning inc. resonant scanner.

They have really sharp bandwidth, and very high q factors. Hook the coil to a audio amp at a few watts, bounce a hene or diode off the mirror, and freequency sweep it VERY SLOWLY with a sound card, but you can stop at around 4 khz. The coil can heat up fast, so keep the power down.

Or you could shock excite it and look at the coil with a sound card FFT (laptop microphone input) to get a clue where the first resonance is...

All replies appreciated, and the winner is,,,Laserman! Paperweights, gotta love that one!
But anywho, what might a resonant scanner be used for? It's original intended use. It does look as if it had a purpose at some point, other than just to secure my bid! LOL!

Looks like something for a HeNe. The Red filter indicates that it is intended to block out the non lasing wavelengths.
