Default Kimmon HeCd Laser: Service Manual and Information wanted

    Hi Everybody,

I have here a Kimmon IK4601R-E HeCd Laser with low Output. When I start it, power goes to roughly 20mW after warm up but then drops to 12mW after another half an hour. The laser was removed functional with 45mW from a laser writer and was transported to it's new home by car. Now the output is that low.
Does anybody has a service manual for this laser? I'd like to know the usual tube voltage (currently 2400V) and current(currently 4mA). I think it could be a gas pressure problem. The laser head itself has three pots to trim gas fill, tube voltage and current (see attached pics). It also has a "gas fill LED" which is on the whole time. Does this mean something bad?
I am grateful for any information!

if I were you, I'd try to deactivate the helium heater and run the laser a few hours, as it seems it is stuck on for some reason

helium will raise tube voltage and in excess, reduce power

I don't know if you read sams laser faq about HeCd lasers, but it could be the problem

That's why I'd like to know the ideal tube voltage and current. Anyone knows?

A cw gas fill light can mean you are out of gas. But only 4 mA?????? 40 mA I would believe.. Something is very wrong... eMAIL KIMMON...
