Forgot to mention,.
I made my own once when I ran across a bad crystal set..I pulled them
and realigned the lenses and...presto , IR pointer.
I Think it was a lightvision pointer I did this too as it was a POS
Now...think of some use for it?

I have an Altasnova leadlight that has a blown diode. Do you think I would risk ruining the diode in I focused on the these 808nm units into it ? What do you think would happen with 500mw of pump into a standard crystal, 50 mw ?

I was also thinking of swaping one of the driver boards from the 808nm units on to the old leadlight with the new diode, what do you think ?

I dont think you would damage the diode by the leadlight swap other than improper handling, the crystals might have a problem with it.
i think you would be better off using the driver board that came with the 500mw than the stock leadlight driver, the leadlight is not made for the current the 500mw uses.

Yep that was the plan, assemble the 500mw diode and driver into the rear of the leadlight ?

Do you think I would be better off waiting for the Casix before doing this ?
