Default Slight oddity in my new projector - diagnose?

OK so my new 800mW RGB is superbly groovy, there is one glitch though, which I'd like to know more about.

Using Pangolin LiveQuick, if I make two vertical lines, one white, and one red, the red line displays fine, but the white line has a short segment of magenta at the top.

Is this inevitable? Is it to do with software or hardware? Because my scanners are only 20K?

(The ILDA test pattern looked reasonable, I have to say. If backwards, because LiveQuick doesn't seem to have a "flip X" option like QuickShow?).

This is because the red laser is a diode laser, and your green and blue are (usually) DPSS. DPSS lasers have a slower reaction time than diode lasers, since they have to pump the crystals and get them lasing. This also means temperature stabilizing.

Basically, your red laser is reacting faster than your other lasers, which is extremely common.

I believe DZ sells a colour correction board that you can use to add a small delay to the red to match it, but I'm not exactly sure how it works.

Probably won't make it to Surfleet, sadly. Having spent a good wad of cash recently I am going to raincheck and ponder on the colour correction board a little. Dang this is an expensive pastime!

Try playing with the blanking offset/colour shift in the projector settings and see if that helps at all.

Also, LQ does have X/Y flipping. The 'size' option in projection zones goes to negative numbers so you can flip it there, and have it different for each zone.

Information about this problem can be found here: http://www.pangolin.com/resguide03d.htm

There is (occasionally) a solution available here: http://www.dzelaser.com/color_correction_circuit.htm
