i have a beagle that can do that at one point i had a sliding glass door out to my deck and he would get up on a table next to the door open the lock then get down and slide the door open then he would go to the back gate then open it ( the kind with the up down latch) and then go for a walk

so we had to start putting a lock on the back gate and a 2x4 in the sliding glass door to brace it from opening

one time i was locked out and luckily the wood was not in the sliding door

so i some how got the dog to open the door for me and let me in
