SCOTLEM - 1 Hour North of Carlisle- Early July - Need opinions - overnight possible

I orginally planned for a venue in glasgow , one day type event for 6 hours but as there was other inetrest i started looking further south especially as CAA was impossible as venue was in flightpath of glasgow Airport, also the area could not be guaranteed privacy.

SCOTLEM - LASER CAMPOUT :-) .... ( camping not compulsary - stay in the hall ! )

I have now found quite a few venues around an hour north of carlisle to help and encourage some people to come up from England ..... not quite as big as surflleet but close and some are very much isloated , and we can sleep overnight -some even have grounds to camp and BBQ ... theres only one downside -PRICE - booking from friday to sunday concerns me as there might not be enough interest so I would appreciate some help in wether this should go forward now

For the financials i will start at saying to help towards hall cost ,£10 per day is donation

I'm up for this...would prefer to sleep in hall if possible...taking down possibly (probably) wet (it is summer after all !) camping gear and lasers dont go well together and take up valuable space in my car IMHO cant do 1st weekend in July on hols...

Other than that... Sounds great

Just to add,

Fri / Sat or Sat/Sun would be cool with me (but need to discuss with the boss) - I'm happy to just come when the most of us will be there, but I don't think I'll be able to do a whole weekend away (unless I bring the mrs and kids along and make *them* sleep in a tent!)

Happy to pay my way and bring some excellent Scottish Wiskey (obviously not for use whilst operating laser equipment.. )


Sleep in hall would be better.. I do have two tents and double airbed but yeh.. tents suck.

Thats for all who have confirmed , it makes it easier to confirm it it will be possible and i feel its looking like theres just enough people to make it happen ... ( dont want to be sitting there on my own LOL )

I have a choice of about 6 venues , all within around ten miles of moffat , the number one choice of venue i have is booked on the friday which would limit the event to saturday and sunday ? is this good ..does anybody have any thoughts do they really want it to be 3 days ? etc ...I shall hopefully get around to see them all this week and firm things up next week ...and i cant answer any realistic power questions until I have firmed up venues.

and its a bit to far to travel from right down south would take >7 hours to get there from gatwick, but have fun

Sorry for late response. I was really hoping to attend this meet but :-

1) The two weeks in July are the two weeks my son is visiting from Australia, and

2) Due to financial circumstances. I will probably soon be selling my laser gear anyway

Seriously thinking about cancelling , having trouble gaining access to view venue and also theres only 5 people commited

If you want this to happen SHOUT NOW and LOUD

Need more people to make it financially viable ...need more LASERS

This could be first opportunity to see all this new blue thats kicking about , or team togther to work on kit etc
