Somebody should have called Jim Redyke form Dykon.
A shape charge wrapped around that would have sliced the pipe clean off.
    Will there be three phase!!!!

I wish I had some particle image velocimetry software, Looks like they are fighting a fairly high current from the streaks going past in the image.

Water is very clear there, some of today's early pics showed amazing distances.

Of course 1500 watt metal halide lamps probably help.

I'd pay 5$ a day for some professional live commentary of what we are looking at...

One thing is for sure, they should have done this level of work weeks ago.

The diamond cutter stalled after getting about 1/4 of the way through. There appeared to be a hydraulic fluid leak. Now the camera is directed away from the gusher.

We were on the way back from TX this time. When I am isolated, is just about the only time that I have any time to relax and browse the site here.

    Understood pal...

Make some time today to catch up on the cheap 445 nm diode hysteria that is sweeping the forums. Yeah, things just changed for the better!

Looking forward to seeing you at SELEM man.

Two other dutch companies are stand by to help clean up the oil, but they are not allowed by the US government because they skim the oil with big skimmers and suck up the oil and water and store the oil and pump the water overboard. but the water still contains a little bit of oil and thats not allowed.

US regulations are contradictor (as always) Pumping water back into the sea with little oil residue is not allowed. But you are allowed to combat the spill with chemicals so that the oil dissolves in the seawater.
