    Default FLashback3 Speed

Is it just mine or is all flashback3 cards only giving out 30.000kpps maximum?

That is all they are Spec'd to do. Quickshow projector settings will allow you to set the speed higher than this though it will not exceed 30k at the output

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

Im not here to bash pangolin on the nose or anything but i was litle surprised about it first time i noticed it (about 1hour after i tried the software for the first time) but didnt care as there was so much other cool stuff.

but now when im getting to work harder and harder with the software and making more and more complex animations i start to feel litle left behind as my Galvos are 50.000kpps and sometimes when using alot of points its not really enough with 30.000kpps.

infact i cant see anywhere on there website where they specs say it is only for 30.000kpps at maximum. http://www.pangolin.com/flashback/flashback3.htm

It sounds like your animations might be evolving beyond the level of hobbiest; that is the level I have always thought the FB3 was aimed at that level of intrest and skill. 30k is the industry standard; I would think there is normally no need for a hobbiest to go beyond that.

It might be time to make the jump to a QM2000. I know when I decided to go Pango, I had always hoped to do something professional; that's one of the main reasons I got the QM2000 intro instead of the FB3. The other main reason is the Winamp visualization plugin. I wanted a laser O-scope. Zoofscope hadn't been born yet.

You might also need to find away to optimize your animations. I'm lucky if I can make an optimized frame...

The Flashback 3 is the smallest, easiest and most economical way to add high-quality graphics and beams to a stand-alone laser projector. In fact, the Flashback 3 is so impressive, that it won the ILDA Hardware Product Of The Year Award in 2006.
This credit-card sized wonder can play laser graphics, beams and even complete Pangolin-quality shows. No extra computer hardware is needed – the tiny Flashback 3 has everything you need to control your laser projector.

Flashback 3 laser images look the same as from full-fledged Pangolin systems. That’s because Flashback 3 outputs high-quality projector signals

I wont go as far as saying its litle false advertising becouse its a really great software and hardware. but after reading that text its just the same as the other systems but without the network, and other options that qm2000 offers.

And actually im not making so complex animations. i mean a normal wave animation with 40-50beams/points is maximum after that you will start to see strobing.

AS i said again im really happy with the software especially the new Quickshow, but i think they should change there "Specs" to really say it is only for 30.000kpps, perhaps next buyer is not overseeing with the other stuff.

on the other hand they got the month to return it

    im just saying.

    sounds great..

thats one of the reasons why Pango is the best, there continues of updating there hardware and software and listening to there customers.

I recently talked to Bill about another problem with the "Target Beams" not putting out full power, without going into details of our emails and what happend but i can say it was fixed.

Was it a fix with a software update?
There was some involved discussion about this with Bill in a thread on here.

    +1

Yes, the last part of that discussion involved Bill taking our FB serial numbers with a view to "trying something".
