    Default GM20 low mass arms

    I got a few made.

    See pic

PL price, I can sell them for $14AUDea for singles, or $12AUDea for 5pcs.

The quality of these is tops, the mount clamps around the gm20 shaft rather than a grub screw screwing into the gm20 shaft.

Good to see a new supplier of these... I have a few still, but I am sure to need more in the future.

    Cheers

Looks interesting Dave. The GM20 I have uses a solid arm, but still it is very low mass.

Having not installed the shutter yet (or even opened the Edison case delivery!!! - yes my motivation is at an all time lowwwww) I have no idea of how fast they are anyways...

Perhaps I'll grab one at the cost, the next time I order stuff from you.

I am in the same boat as dnar at this point lots of stuff sitting in boxes the only difference is its summer here in the US, its hard to stay away from the pool and the great outdoors not to mention the work involved out there. I have a hand wired Circuit sitting on my bench, for sending my ADAT to my projector and it has been sitting there since May with a couple of solder points done. I have all the parts for an an 8 position beam table and some 445 laser diodes and a DPSS housing and its all just sitting there not to mention I used my 500mw 532 about two times since I bought it sever months ago.
I need to get motivated but Summer seems to be casting a lazy spell on me. I may be interested in some Dave whenever the spell is finally broken.

Y'all are both slack bitches and are guilty of laser neglect... Get off yer asses, or out of the pool, and build them projectors!!! Or send all them parts over to me and I will give em the love they deserve. (how's that for motivation!)

Thanks for dropping one of these light weight arms in the QS package the other day Dave.

Your new arm looks great. Will post some pics once I finalise a driver and fit the shutter.

    No worries Wayne

For a driver I have just been using a fet to pull to ground, and some caps in parallel ( around 2-300uF ) with the GM20 to provide some damping. Or if you want to get a bit fancy, a power opamp or tda2030 or something along those lines with an adjustable LP filter to provide damping

I found adding C to the load (47uF) delayed the shutter close time (slightly), so I settled on quenching the back EMF with a diode. See here: http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...360#post201360
