    Default 900mW of 445nm VS 1Watt of 473nm

How much is the visable diference?

Is the 473 VERY much lighter or?

Ive been on the lookout for a blue module for a long time now and its seems that i will be buying soon.

I have 2 offers from two different companys right now wich is within my budget.,still waiting for a 3:d offer.

    OFFER 1. 900mW 445nm & a Red 640nm 300mW (package deal)
    OFFER 2. 1watt 473nm

The beamspecs are very similar on the blue´s, infact exactly the same.

I think 473nm will have a brighter beam, but 445 will get you a better white.

In chroma you can see the luminance of each color in the DOS box.

Here is the best of both worlds:

Go with 1 Watt of 457...

Sure, for me it will be 800 or 1W 457nm ! (from laserextreme of course ! )

Definitely go with the 445nm, or with a 457 as well ! You'll get some fantastic colour gamut. As for brightness, you can simulate a blue from a 473nm by adding a bit of 532nm, and the brightness will go much higher than with only the blue.
I have a 900mW from RGBLaserSystems and very happy with it.

And with the 445nm diode, you'll get rid of the DPSS technology, which is an argument too (much faster and clean modulation unless you have an AOM, less temperature sensitive, less consumed power, less parts subject to failure, but counterpart is somewhat a bigger beam and a bit less bright).

    457nm modulates better than 473nm
457nm got better beam specs compared to 445nm
if a 445nm diode fails you are in trouble (money wise) if a pump diode fails its a cheap fix.

MCcarrot has some good points. Mmm 900mw blue? sound like a RGB lasersystem module.

Personally i would go for a 445nm because of the better white. Combo,s are most of the time a good deal.

I should have perhaps said that i am only interested in power.. although quality and beamspec is of importance.

but im not looking to create perfect white, im just trying to get as much power as possible.. i have a Green 1.7Watt allreay so now i want some blue to match that,, After i bought this blue i wil start eh hunt for red and aim for high power White.

so what you guys say. 457? or 445?

I know RGB systems are really nice although this 473 sounds very nice also, so hard to decide. The 473 is manufactured by: http://www.lasershow.hu/
ive never heard of them before thats why im litle worried.

but so far the 457 seems like the best option litle more expensive then the others but i get 1.5W wich is a nice number.

    thnx for you input guys.

Without a doubt go for a 457. You still have the brightbeam and 1.5 watt of blue 457nm.

I compared prices and MCarrot has some good deals on the 457,s also on the greens.

But i think youre after a nice blue

Also he is a thrustworthy seller and service is excellent. Very important when buying a expencive laser like you have in mind
