Retuning might get you going again, but the galvo is surely on it's last legs man. Could be a bad bearing, could be a shorted coil... Either way, you've got problems.

But re-tuning isn't going to hurt anything. The galvo is already shot. If you re-tune, you might be able to run it at a reduced scan angle for the week or two it will take the replacement to arrive. (Enough to satisfy your "habit", eh?)

As Forrest Gump would say, "it happens"...although adding the SH would be appropriate for this!!

The older v2.5 Amps did not had a current limiter and would fry you galvo coil when you used a extreme frame (like you did)
The newer v4.3 driver should have a current limiter to prevent this from happening, but you never know with Chinese galvo's.
