My friends and I have all had this same experience: it takes several months to get used to the new mortgage payments, and then it will seem natural and you'll wonder what you did with the extra money. Yeah, I just bought a new laser. Softened the blow by taking my wife to Paris for a long weekend. It's do-able, with the help of credit cards.
