They like to bash LPF here.

If you can't get on the forum contact the admin C0ldshadow. I'll PM you his email.

Solefeast seems to know a lot about the kit he would need to really wind PL up, eh?
    My thoughts exactly.

A response something along the lines of 'Eh Willis, what you talkin' 'bout?' will confirm...

Well this was no help at all. 25 posts, and nobody anserwed my question.

Can anybody here make me a build/heatsink kit?

I think you'll find all of the accessories and stores here are geared towards solid mounting to a baseplate.

Um.....do what now? I've noticed that this forum seems to be more geared towards scanners. Do yall do lab-style lasers too?

There are definitely some people (especially those on a budget) who build their own laser modules. Checkout http://www.microlaserlabs.com/aixiz-...unts-c-27.html for an idea of table mounts for aixiz modules. (Aixiz modules if you're not familiar with them are just tiny little hosts / heatsinks which will accept the 5.6mm diodes).

A lab style laser could be built using a table mount, an aixix module, a tec and controller (or fan if not so much cooling required) , a diode driver such as a flexmod. Also a lasorb is a good idea to protect from esd.

There are also fancier designs such as dual, quad and more combiners.

I know what an aixiz is, I've built a laser already, but I want to make one for an 8X BR build, in a handheld, which I can do now (I found a compatable host/HS kit). And as far as mounts, I'm looking for something a little better. Look up 'maxsink'. The guy who makes them is out of em, so I can't get one, but that's what I'm looking for (something similar).

Perhaps this is karmas way of saying dont build a pointer.

As was mentioned, generally we dont do pointers here. I was lighting cigarettes with argon lasers 14 years ago. Burning stuff isnt fun any more, been there, done that and set fire to it.
We prefer to build proper kick ass systems for display purposes.
