I know it was mentioned in "chat" that it is just 1 supplier hold up he was working with.

    Default cigar beam

looks like a pinhole might be warrented to clean up all the side splatter. With that kind of power we can afford to chop 50% of the beam to square up the beam and clean up the beam.

PS: my red died in my existing projector. that'shat I get for playing with it. question is what will the pinhole do to the divergence.

As far as I know, it's not, although I and several others have inquired about the possibility of a quad kit. I'm thinking a quad may have a very large footprint and be overkill for most projectors anyway, as Chroma predicts it'd take over 4W of green and nearly 8W of 640nm to get a good white balance with 4W of 445nm.

Now with blue being amazingly cheap I think more rgb lasers are going to spring up. I just think that over time people will become used to seeing full colour lasers.

Saying that u can see a rubbish laser show with multiple watt lasers but a very good well controlled one with low power lasers.

I just have a feeling that the more ignorant party goer doesn't see what we see and when loads of rgb systems are about it will become the norm.

Only time will tell. It may be a good thing though cause it will mean we will all have to work harder to produce exceptional shows.

Having been on the end of chinese ....... problems and not being a hero with a soldering iorn (Build projectors ok / building finished diodes with internal optics not so much) I would happily fork out cash to PL member-preffered supplier for finished diode that can be added to my projector and add to its effectivness. I think its really exciting to see this stuff evlove day to day.

Edison, thanks, it hasn't been that quick of a project. I've been reasearching and testing for more than a month now on lensing combinations. Also spent hundreds of $ buying test lenses.

I notice a few people (mostly people that run laser sales stores) are asking for the lens details. I'll be happy to give them out once the research cost has been taken care of. If anyone of these people wants to chip in to defray that research cost, that would be very helpful, and the details could be released sooner!
while i cant see my self directly purchasing a GB i do plan to benifit from finished dioed's being availablefrom the PL community on the markett, i would be happy to chip in a 10'er have you got some paypal detail we can dump to ?
