lol.. sorry, I had actually intended to post a link to the whole page. My fault.. It's good to see that your synapses were able to fire and send signals to your arms and your hands so you could type it out, right? It's always sort of reassuring to know all that stuff's still workin' fine..

Unless you have spent good money on getting some of it to stop working for a bit...

    hey evewryone-

OK, here is an update. Unfortunately it isnt a good update.

the pass 473 reflect 445 dichro isnt going to happen i have been told. The coating required for this is *much* too expnsive. We are talking prob approx ~$180-$200 for a 25mm dichro.

few other possibilities for solutions as of now:

(i *have not* tried any of these myself but i have been told or read by others they have gotten satisfactory results)

1- use our new blue dicros. These have been tested with 445 and have nearly *identical* T/R specs as 473nm. these can be used to mix R, G and B (445 only). I have Plenty of these in stock as i am sure rob and dave also do.

2- use our existing blue PBS cubes. the T/R for 445 blue is a little more than ideal ( i think in the low to mid 80%'s) so it is not an efficient solution. But it can work satisfactorily for now until something newer/better is available. Use this with 473 and you should be ok.

Bridge *is* going to be doing a new 445 PBS.

    As quoted by Bridge,

"473nm PBS had about 15% loss of 445nm in Transmission polarization, reflection is >99%, so if you set it up so that the 445 is reflected, you wont loose much at all"

why bother with the amount of power available in 445nm no need to deal with 473nm at all.

I for one will be doing this and am watching this thread closely. Reason being I would prefer the wider range of colours and the opportunity to modulate the 445 and 473 separately using my Pangolin set up. Sky blues and deep violets should both be possible.

I agree. However, members who already have 473 installed arent going to *remove* power/wavelengths from their systems. I think that is against the law and punishable by death, LOL !! For those building a system from new, or a newer system design, sure, chances are they are not going to use 473.

    Dave-

thanks for the update on the PBS.
