    Well the emission point accuracy is quoted at +-5degrees for the 1w diode.

    i like your thinking Dean..

    well hold on - whats to say the original light pipe couldn't be used for this then for the initial knife edging in one axis... just need to machine up a second similar system of mirrors to sort out the other axis.. ?

    there you go pat - reusing as much of the original bits as possible

    btw - i'd also be interested in seeing what comes off the light pipe. maybe when ours is pulled to bits...
