well I would figure its a "1W" diode, then lens losses etc...
but I would be willing to bet money its the same Casio projector diodes...
I am actually tempted to pick one of those up, at least they pretend to care by adding interlocks and such... maybe the driver has a current adjust, could turn it down to a more reasonable output

yes the local BestBuys are now all out of these units, i have checked thier website and no stores in the US show stock now, only thru mail it's available ........ i bet this week somthing will happenI believe Casio are trying to get these things off the market
