Default Cheap Wind up Stand off ebay

i was after a cheap wind up stand for my new projector but couldnt afford the 250 they normally cost.

so did a bit of ebay searching and saw they had some on there.

found the one i wanted and contacted the seller to ask that if i didnt like it i could return it. which he was fine with.

anyway got the stand today and OMG, very surprised. looks excellent build quality, heavy/strong, very solid.

i would 100% purchase the same stand again, its so much better than the cheap tin foil stands you get from maplin. goes 3 metres high and can carry 50kg.

Good find there Andy and nice price.

One question. Dose it have a safety pin that goes through the upper half of the post as I was looking at a winch stand on eBay a bit back and was put off by the fact that there was no safety pin for the post.

yes it has holes so you can put a pin all the way through, but it also comes with a screw so you can screw/clamp also

    Very good.

This now means there's going to be no more accidents with fingers at the LEM's I hope.

Regarding the lack of pins on some stands..

If it is winch by cable then it does need a pin. If it is winched by gears/gearbox arrangement then they are usually self locking and so don't need a pin to secure.

So don't be put off unless you know its definately not safe.

I'd go for a PowerDrive stand.

    I think I ordered a Ref330...

After seeing those sheared M6 bolts (and fingers!) from the generic eBay stand at the last meet, I'd stay away

250 plus postage dan is more than my pocket money

i think the shearing of the m6 bolt is a one off, you would need some serious weight to normally shear an m6 bolt.

if i get any problems with this ebay one ill update this thread.
