OK So he keeps the laser......

Hey, if I am any good that 80 mw is just a starting point. I just got some new stuff to play with, and its a holiday weekend (Ive got 4 days off).

I just got 3 new pointers from Gabriel (buy from him), to Mod. I am going to post all the details here.

    Got 2 HeNe to collect.

    Got a new PC.

Got a new carpet in the bedroom (that means lots of lost components).

So Ive got lots of things to play with and an 80 mw pointer is still just a pointer. In order to have a little fun I have told him that a strict 3 minutes on and 30 seconds off duty cycle is called for  .

Hey marconi thanks for the meter, I cant make another mistake now. I put all 3 of Gabriels pointers on the meter last night, it read 14 mw.

    Thanks

    Gold

Good for you...Always something to keep one-self busy...
As long as there are lasers involved at least, Hi.

Now you have some new goals... more toys..
As long as the Misses allows ,,hehe.

Glad the meter is working out for you..

I Have decided to mod some digital LUX / FC light meters for use as
Laser power meters, I am waiting on a cheapy and some ND filters to arrive.
I will let ya know how it all goes..

Looks like we will need something to read higher power now.

    Glad your Back

    Hi K_Car

I was never away, I wish I had never wrote the post, but it did piss me off.

My laser weekend has turned a bit of a damp squib, I am going to get the Henes in a minute so perhaps things will get better.

Hey K_Car do you have a green pointer, if so what is it and whats the power ?

And another thing, whats your/marconi's best green module ever ?

Are we there yet ? Are we there yet ? Are we there yet ? Are we there yet ?

    Hi Gold,.
I can answer that...The most powerful ever has to be the YAG I built
    last summer...
Uses a Spectra-Physics 15w Fiber Diode as the pump...
Some expensive crystals from ebay , and some expensive optics .
It easily does well over 3watts of green...
Thats as far as I can measure it and I do need to get a higher power meter .
However...it hasnt been in operation since Sept of last year.
I never finished the Peltier controller ..I was using to commercial
controllers during the time it was running..
Since then...I have borrowed some of the optics to use in other projects.
    Someday....

As far as the green modules..
We made a couple of those 100mw units with the 1102 casix rocks..
They did well over 100mw with a 500mw pump.
Those were really nice pumps..Those were the TO-3 cans with a drilled out peltier cooler sandwiched to a heatsink.
I need to get more of those someday.
They went to the same person..I guess he likes them
as we have never heard back from him...except for an email with "WOW".

Lately,..as you can see we have been spending much time on the REDS..
Anyone can pick-up a greenie as they are all over the place..
But getting High-Power RED is tuff.
And with a particular red diode we have been leaning on for
    holography use.
    Yep...pretty busy we are...
