Default 2 Fellow Laserist's die in airplane crash in Rochester Minnesota

    Dan Lauritsen, age 30
    Chris Livingston, age 30
    Heather Nichols, age 28
If Heather was a laserist is unknown by me.

Both Dan and Chris had at a time stated some things that now are in the popular
    Sams LASER FAQ.

I met Dan when he was 18 through the local laser grapevine.
I was amazed with the speed that he learned, he was a wizard!

For a while he had an SP Millennia II dpss system, running over 2 watts,
There were always many large frame ion heads running and in stages of repair at his place.
He built dpss heads even. At one time he even had enough batteries
strapped to his bicycle to power a small air cooled argon like an
NEC or ALC . As time went on he gained experience working with a local
company called Lasertainment and one of the companies in florida, its name
escapes me but it was probably with Chris Livingston.

We are asked to bring our lasers to the get together, I see large offerings.
I will miss the lengthly intelligent conversations with him, R.I.P. Dan

A nice news report that details both Dan and Chris (in text)
    can be found here:

A local news station's video can be seen here about the crash:

OMG...... I knew both of these guys rather well. Chris particularly. I am very sorry to hear this. Dan was an absolutely brilliant person, I had been trying to find out how to contact him recently as I haven't spoken with him in years. Damn....

I dont know when you changed your sig but I find it quite poignant in relation to this thread

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

Rob, I'm slightly offended. Do think that I changed my sig just to be disrespectful? I knew both of these men and considered them friends. This loss is tragic to me. For what it's worth, I changed my sig line over a week ago.....

You misunderstand me entirely - I have no cause to offend over this or indeed any such matter.
I think its appropriate to the thread - as I said poignant. (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/poignant)
I see your sig is a question and the answer to this question has just been spelled out, this is the reason we should NOT put off things til next week - we dont know whats around the corner - simple as that
I hope you understand my intentions now.

    Very sad news.

@Rob and Dave, maybe its a cultural difference; I got it.

Rob, ok, I mis-took poignant to mean foul. If you could please forgive me for the misunderstanding and for thinking your intentions were bad. I just, still can't believe that they're gone.
