Default Projecting a grid with a single laser

    Hello

Is there a way to project a grid like this with a single laser (<5mW):

I have a idea to make a focus light for my SLR Camera in dark conditions, and a laser grid would be perfect to focus on...

Any ideas? (simple, no galvos or such)

See if you can get your hands on some line gratings, you may be able to arrange them to get a grid.

I got to say that i am not that good at the theory of gratings, but even if i managed to split the beam into multiple horizontal lines i would still need another laser to make the vertical, right?

A single line is easy, just to buy a cheap line-laser, but i do not want a bunch of line lasers strapped to my camera (think 10 lasers on a camera...)

You can buy cross grids ready made.

Those i already have a few of, but the thing was to create a grid with multiple lines in both horizontal and vertical direction.

I have seen a focus light like this on a digital camera from sony? i think and it was great to use in dark enviroments where the camera otherwise have a hard time focussing.

These sometimes have grid generators, but the selection is random.

    Looks like this:
