    Default Noise from scanned object?

Anybody ever notice noise being emitted from where the scanned beam is terminated?

What kind of surface are you terminating on?

It was terminating on a suede jacket.

I've just captured the effect on my camcorder but the upload has failed 3 times.

    I'll upload it to Mediafire.

I was running the RGB and over the considerable fan noise I could hear a buzz from behind me.

Radiation pressure? Its only thing i can think of.
Is the noise same frequency as scanning frequency?

Sounds like the beam might be heating the surface a little whenever it touches the suede, making a little noise.

I would imagine that suede will expand when the water and air inside it gets heated.

YES i had this with an asbestos door at which i scanned with a 7W RGB from 30 feet.
This was really weird.. the surface wasn't getting noticeable warm or anything..

Black pelicases will buzz when scanned with 8w of 532 green.
It sounds like a 'dry crackle' rather than a 'buzz'.
I had always thought is was the plastic absorbing the light energy and expanding, then quickly contracting as the scanning spot moved on .
