    but my view thats a crap beam and i would want better.

    no one seems to care about beam size or shape.

    am i the only one who wants a good round/square beam not a long line?

    everyone just seems to be seeing the watts, getting excited and forgetting about beam quality.

    If all you're doing is beams then the beam quality is not so much of an issue. Of course for graphics you're going to want better beam specs. Though if you're planning on making something that does 30W, I doubt you'll be doing graphics unless you wish to project onto the sky.

    I think that's the main point Andy, loads of people are working on getting decent beams though.

    Andy is spot on.

    Assuming same divergence, if you have a 30W with 8mm circular beam, or 4W with a 1mm circular beam.
    I know what I'd rather have! (No, not the 30W)
