    Not to get this thread off topic, but can you point me to any threads on knife edging or explain it a bit? is it really as simple as I think? Just fine tuning a mirror to barely be on the edge of both beams? I assume that if you're going to have the option of putting it into a PBS into the future, you'd align the axises. So assume the alignment for one diode looks like an '|'. Would you stack two next to each other (like this " || ") or would you make it look like one long axis? (like this " -- ") and then correct in the prism? I'd think that if you were using a prism, you'd do the latter, but....

    Hey Valex

    Let me show you in a diagram I did, far simple than in words

    You asked why use Knife edging over PBS, main reason would be due to losses in the cube, I added hypothetical losses to the diagram to try and demonstrate (they didn't come out to well)

    The bottom row would be dependent on having an efficient PBS cube that reflects blue and transmits red

    Edit: updated diagram for more realistic losses

    This is only true if you use a crappy PBS

    a good PBS got efficiency of 98% on pass and 96% on the reflect side.

    @Mccarrot

    I think you missed my point, I was generalizing on losses of a PBS cube compared to knife edge mirrors.

    Even with your cube the total loss is 6% in comparison to 2-4% using high quality mirrors

    Can you get off the hard sale tactics for a bit.

    And to be honest the more you pay out on other vendors products the less I want to buy from you, this kind of sale tactics really shits me

    Sorry for side tracking the thread

    Im interested in 1 and maybe 2 depending on the price of the optics.
    Do you have any timeframe for when this groupbuy is done?

    Andy,

    I'm definitely in for one, perhaps two if price drops a bit.
