    hmmm, always found 3D printers fascinating to watch, but I'm not sure what I'd use one for unless it can make super-durable objects.

    Does the recommended Acer projector need to be modded in any way, or does it throw out enough UV as-is?

    It should be straightforward enough to move the phosphor wheel out of the way in the A130, but I don't think anyone has bypassed it electronically yet (maybe @krazer has?).
    That way, you'd get the 445nm light direct from the laser array for a huge part of each frame.

    I also never tried bypassing the Red Phlatlight, but you can probably leave it in place for this application.

    @HegerTechnik - are you looking to modify the A130 in some way to improve 3D-printing performance?

    Yes.
    A Normal Lamp works. But the Casio have no Lamp. So i will use Xenon.

    Most of my efforts as of late have been focused in getting the projector to run with nothing connected at all (see http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...hing-connected ), however it would not take much effort to further things along to modify a projector for 3D printing. If you are willing to pay full price you can stick with the 445nm diodes in the projector, evenstock it puts out a ton of 445nm, and with the (simple) modification of removing the color wheel you can get about double the 445nm. If you really want to go all out, the correct solution is to replace the red phatlight source with a LED chosen for your UV cure resin (you can get a 450nm ~100lumen LED that will be a drop in replacement for ~$30 at mouser, the optics will work fine for UV out to ~380nm if you need it), make some (simple) changes to the optical routing, and you can run a projector without the diodes for 3D printing applications.

    That sounds great. For 3D Printing: UV was not the best light to see. My Idea was, UV-LED and a green Laser.

    Now I've got two of the casios with empty laser-bank and will test with them as 'only red'-SL-scanner with a B/W-cam.

    Next could be removing all the optics and firing with a UV-pulse-laser with up to 400kW-pulses (with converging pre-expanded beam, so the mirrors will survive) across the DMD-chip for micro-machining ...

    ... the UV-printing is delayed until christmas vacations, as I'm actually busy with 3D-scanning with the 'only red'-modified Casio - attached some images of a typical 'flying setup' scanning, aligning and 'fusing' a 10cm tall figure.

    The software and toolchain for slicing the 3D-data into 2D-images for the UV-beamer is already working, some resin is there too ... so will do some printing when the mechanical setup is assembled and running ...

    ... you need an USB-camera with good resolution and best 30 fps - mine has 1200x1024 and 21 fps, and is BW ... with a colour-cam you can grab the texture automatically while scanning, with a BW-cam you have to scan 3 times with colour-coded light for the separate channels ...

    I have another camera with 1600x1200 @30fps, but the driver (VideoLink) wouldn't be recognized by David :-(
