    Default Lasorb 683

Anybody know when the LASORB 683 is going to be available? Should be better protection for 445's running less than 500mW than the LASORB 833 might provide.

I was told by pangolin the 445 lasorb is in production and will be ready to ship in two weeks. That was a week ago though.

Is there really a need to protect the 445nm? I've done about everything but piss on the thing and it just keeps on lazing....

That was my thought; Macr did some fairly extensive "scientific" testing and it sounds like you could store em as house slipper beads until you wanted to use them and they'd be OK.

This is correct, I expect to receive the L44-683 Lasorbs end of next week.

For the people who bought the L44-833 Lasorb (405nm), this part will work fine without any problems on the 445nm diodes.

I would go a step further and say is there really a need top protect any laser diode? The only times that I have killed diodes has been thru stupidity! Now that I have said that I'm probably going to start zapping diodes!

I have been using the blu-ray version on all my 445's and never had an issue even without static protection after attachment.
