Default ND:Yag Rod for Continuous Operation

I am looking for a replacement ND:YAG rod for my arc lamp driven laser.

There is a rod on ebay that came from a pulsed laser of the right length and diameter.

Does anyone know if the composition of the rod is different for pulsed versus continuous lasing? Will a rod from a pulsed laser work in a continuous laser?

Call/email Scientific Materials Corporation in Bozeman MT and ask them about rod doping levels. Specifically ask them about pulsed vs. lamp pumped CW rods. They make most of the long OEM YAG rods grown in the USA. They might just have an answer. A new OEM rod from them is about two weeks pay for a middle class American. (Something I used to be.)
