It's the "without warranty" bit of his ad that concerns me.
So if it arrives and doesn't power up then you are stuffed.

PWM = led switching chip driving the laser diode, not PWM intensity modulation.

This thread should have went into BST anyways.

Note he states the recommended output is less than 700mw so he's also potentially overdriving them to reach 1 Watt (not that we didn't know that already considering Casio run them around 500mw - a good indicator of a long life level).

Also, wonder if anyone's told him these are pulsed? I seem to remember Rob finding that on his oscilloscope. If I remembered correctly, 1 watt could actually be a bit a bit more (maybe 1.5 watts) given that its pulsing and thus be potentially dangerous for anyone audience scanning without taking that into account.

...Its "long pulse" not Qswitched, Cavity Dumped, or Modelocked, so you'd use the "DC" average power for the audience scanning. So no greater damage then "CW". Still would make the math hell.

Sorry, new guy here...I saw this ad for a 1 watt 455 diode and thought someone might be interested....Obviously not...And NO, I am not geareb.
If this has been posted before, I had not seen it yet. I was trying to catchup on back posts but had a long way to go yet.
Sorry to bother everyone...I will bother you no more ! !
