Question Mini RGB projector optics advice

    Hi guys,
I’m after some advice on what optics to use for my mini RGB projector.

I’m building this projector so I can practice LivePro while I’m away from home working.
I want this projector to have good graphics capabilities. I will mostly be projecting onto a slightly shinny grey wall from 2-3meters away.

So far I’ve ordered DT40 pros and a 100mw OEM CNI green, Thanks Dave.

    For the red I’m most likely going to buy a 150mw 642nm Opnext HL6385-E and a lens-27.

For the blue I’m looking at buying a 50-150mw-445nm Nichia NDB7242E.
I’m not sure what collimator I should use for the blue to suit this application.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Here is a link to the green and the Specs for the red and blue.

    Hey Kit,

My advice would be to get 2 of Dave's diode mounting blocks for your diodes, nice and small and with the right threads for Lens 27 and the new Aixiz 405-445 multi-element lens (my recommendation for the collimating optics).

I've got a similar project underway. We'll have to compare notes

    Cheers,
    Tony

You should be able to get away with a much shorter focal length lens for the 50mw nichia diodes, since their emitter is tiny in comparison with the 1w diodes.

    Thanks for the clues guys

Tony, stay in touch. Ill send you some pics when I start making some serious progress.

Dave, thanks for the heads up on those 50mw 445nm blues. The guys who is selling them, advertised them on LPF for $99US a bit over a week ago. I emailed him yesterday. Haven't heard back yet. hope I can get some, they sound perfect.

i have a similar yet vastly different project in the works, and now plan on polluting this thread with it upon completion.
