As promised: 3DS MAX to ILDA conversions.

As i said in my "lasers on holiday" topic over in the lounge i would show you some videos we took of animations made in 3DS Max. My friend Rachel made them in 3DS Max, we converted them and then i optimized them with Dr. Lava's excellent ILD SoS for optimum playback. This is a revolutionary way of making animations, can really suggest it to everyone.

However i borrowed a HD camera with Harddrive in it, and it had an hard time keeping up.
The sync of the screen and the fps of the animation didn't match up.
In real life it looked like it was standing still.

You see the camera had a hard time keeping up and after converting the 1920x1080 video on youtube it kinda went sour, also don't mention the audio ;-)

On the next movies at least i replaced the audio with some free to use audio from Youtube.

Is there a way of "rendering" an avi from LD2000 or Mamba ? I mean import the ILDA file into the software and then write out an avi to show how it really is supposed to look ?
Hope someone can help me out.

Not if you have LD2000 Intro; you need Basic or Pro.
There is an export option direct to AVI if you've got the correct licence file
If you have an FB3 I *think* Showrider exports to AVI. I'm sure I've used that feature in the distant past...
Not a clue about Mamba...

You can record anything that is displayed on your screen. There are countless (free) tools available. Google [screen capture avi]
I'm not sure if the pangolin eula permits it, so check that out first.

You might also want to check out the player that comes with ildsôs; it has a an anti-aliased output and beam rendering. Much better than mamba.

I did mean to "render" the ILDA file directly from LD2000 software.
So that you perfectly can see how the animation looks.
Now i recorded it with a video cam, not resulting in the greatest looking video.
Will soon record them again, but if it's possible directly from software i would like to try that too.

I'm using CamStudio.

Its free and seems to do the job of video screen capture just fine.
