    Default Sky Writer

    Hi all

I have an enquiry from a customer for a system that will project logo's, text etc on a 2000 ft cloud base.

He would also like to project onto surf at 300 meters ( sorry for mixing imperial/metric ! ).

    Any thoughts ?

Maybe a high power dpss 532 with wide beam diameter . How wide would it need to be to get the divergence right down ?

Is this possible with a dpss, or does he need a gas system?

    All ideas welcomed.

    Thanks

you can make a DOT (circle, square) on the sky if it`s low.. using a 200-300mW green laser..

But to WRITE you need aprox more than 1w laser for great result

    cheers

For cloud scans I'd actually recommend renting a 40W green laserscope
Otherwise it's almost pure luck.... Lots of paperwork involved too if its in
    the states...

I can't imagine ~1.6um of divergence actually mattering, but if there are
issues, then they sell "telescope" recollimators fairly inexpensively...

Most high power lasers will be fine for surf at night

    wow 40w ...

Then we are talking about showing movies in the sky not only writing...

I want to se a 40w in the sky.. THAT must be cool..

I use my 240mW laser up in the sky with my 6008 galvos, and I can write small words... But the clouds have to be low... You know when it`s a foggy day outside
