    Default DPSS Modulation Question

Is it possible to drive and analog modulate the 808nm IR diode in a DPSS module (like the one in the photo) using the same type driver that we would use to drive blue or red diodes? Like the flexmod p3 or badpip's driver in place of the one that comes with it. Does the output of the green section mimic the modulated IR diode output?

While I'm no guru on drivers the answer is yes.

I drove a CNI 100mW pointer pointer core with a Die4Drive Pro driver which is an analogue driver of a similar ilk to the ones you mentioned.

Even with CNIs high quality, I had problems though. As it has no TEC, it's beam ends up jelly beaning. I gave up on it and bought a Lasever 100mW green that has a TEC on the back. If you need compact and TEC cooling Lasever and LaserWave have some pretty compact units. Or you could go green direct diode if you don't need much power.

    Good luck

    How's the modulation? Any jellybeaning?

No... as long as you get control of the temprature... also my module is a leadlight @50mw CW, but 150mw pulsed!
