I am really into wildlife photography and would like to share some photos with everyone.
These were from my trip to Yellowstone this summer. My wife and I saw bears every day of our trip.

"Gravity its not just a good idea its the law"
hey a fellow Canon 1D Mark II owner
nice pics, 700mm? what lens were you shooting?
Most of the shots were with my 500 F4 and a 1.4x converter. I have some shots of a black bear that got so close I couldn't focus that close.scared the crap out of me.

I stare at the sun. Here's a pic taken of while at my favorite spot on West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz, right on the cliff with the waves crashing below. The heliostat mount is my own design and build (made for portability and stability in the wind), the filter's a tilting and heated Daystar 0.05nm H-alpha, and the scope's a Televue TV-85 with 4x Powermate.

its a fun albeit expensive hobby (jee what else is new?!)
No good against a grizzly...
"We advise that outdoorsmen wear noisy little bells on their clothing so
as not to startle bears that aren't expecting them. We also advise
outdoorsmen to carry pepper spray with them in case of an encounter with
a bear. It is also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear
activity. Outdoorsmen should recognize the difference between black bear
and grizzly bear poop. Black bear poop is smaller and contains lots of
berries and squirrel fur. Grizzly bear poop has little bells in it and
smells like pepper."
