A little off topic, but I thought this might be interesting.

I was born and raised in Kodiak, Alaska. This is a photo from the late 50's of a friend of our family at a remote fish camp on Kodiak Island. She was the cook at the camp and somehow befriended this bear. She could hand feed it and was the only person that could come near it. On occasion as the men were coming up to the chow hall the bear would come after the men. She would take a broom and beat the crap out of it so the men could get some food. The bear was there for 2 summers and then disappeared. She named the bear Chester and it was in one of the first issues of Alaska Magazine.

I scanned the photo from an old picture my parents had, and touched up the scratches some - but that was it.

No good against a grizzly...

"We advise that outdoorsmen wear noisy little bells on their clothing so
as not to startle bears that aren't expecting them. We also advise
outdoorsmen to carry pepper spray with them in case of an encounter with
a bear. It is also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear
activity. Outdoorsmen should recognize the difference between black bear
and grizzly bear poop. Black bear poop is smaller and contains lots of
berries and squirrel fur. Grizzly bear poop has little bells in it and
smells like pepper."

That's great LOL but I was assured that if the pepper spray didn't work I would get my money back.
