Pangolin are already shipping the FB3-QS. I scored the last 2 Fb3-XE's.. i should have some of the FB3-QS's in stock in a week or 2.

Dave are you able to post a spec comparison between the existing FB3 and the FB-QS?

There seems to be very little information out there other than there is a new version.

AFAIK, no memory card, 6 colour channels, and faster output.

Actually, going back to the OP, I have kind of the opposite question: if I have 30k scanners, what do I set Quickshow to scan at? 30K? Slower?

    Hi Smoke & Mirrors,

I set QS at 30k for 30k scanners.

I found that my scanners can struggle at this speed. I found 24kpps was better for my beam shows. My 30k scanners had to be returned to the manufacturer last week after about 2 months as they went completely nuts - untunable above 12kpps. I am now suspicious that having QS at 30kpps was a bit much for them

I'm no expert by any means so I can only guess that possibly the quality of the scanners must have some bearing.

I have DT40 scanners and run QS at 30k with no problems.

Not being an expert on scanners, I would think setting QS at a little less than max speed of your scanners can't hurt.

Depends on what you were doing. 30kpps as a rating is based on ILDA test at a set number of degrees. It doesn't mean it'll project anything at full deflection at 30k.

If you were doing complex animations or lots of points at full angle, it's no surprise to hear that they gave up.

So: enhanced variant of my original question: given a scanner rating of X kpps, what scanning angle should I deem safe? And what should QS be set to?
