    Default Octo red LOC

This is a LOC red project for a customer comprised of 8 LOC diodes. The collimators are the Aixiz glass 3 element units. The reverse Keplerian telescope crushes down the 4 beams into a very compact group. The spot at a distance was a bit hazed around the edge and not very well defined as a DPSS spot, but very good considering the power vs. losses and overall cost. It is TEC cooled and will have the cover secured before shipment. Final tests are complete. The beam sizes are .13" at apeture, and 1.35" at a distance of 60'. Thus 2 arc tan {D1 -D2}/2length of measure yields 1.79 mrads. Not to bad for home brew lasering. Considering parts around $170 for 1.5 watts of 660nm, not counting my time, is a good deal for homemade. Will help to make some really nice beamshows I would think. Couple of pix before it goes...last pic really does not convey the spot well at all.....CCD overload.

    Very nice,

Are the mounts for the diodes available for sale anywhere?
I take it it is an over under type thing making a square of the 4 beams prior to pbs and not a row?

    Thanks

it's hard to tell from the picture, did you use a micropositioner to set the mirrors?
