Default Just got given some nice old laserstuff!

I got these items from a friend, it is said to be from a company in Miami that does shows on cruise ships.
They have tprobably sat i storage for years, then traveled by shipping container with a car from Miami to Sweden and then sat outside or in unheated space for 6 months so some parts are corroded but a good part looks salvageable.

Some good thorlabs and melles stuff but a lot of unmarked things, maybe somebody here can ID the rest of the stuff?

First, this nice "lissjau graphic generator" from ACR Swiss

Then this very dirty beamtable with solenoids and a custom cover:

a smaller solenoid platform with driver:

Som sort of beam mixing table with nice holders:

And finally a very fine thorlabs optical deck with scanners and beefy drivers and som optical holders:

that "custom cover" is the cover for a laserscope optical deck

The beamtable electronics was built by these guys:

    http://festivals.stonemountainpark.c...ault.aspx?id=5

    AKA Stone Mountain Lasers Inc.

I can't find their web site, so I don't know if the company still exists, or if the park is contracted out now.

Cruise ships and lasers plus Miami almost certainly means Lasernet, Inc.

Man, those home made actuators are gonna "CLUNK".

I should have rented the space under my name for advertising.
    When I still could have...

that lissigous pattern generator thing definitely came from LaserNET... I almost bought it from them at a swap meet at the Miami Museum of Science... just didn't have the space for it

    Thanks for the info!

I think I have two of the laserscope covers. Is the "beam mixing table" also from a laserscope? It looks like it belonged to something medical/industrial.
The first picture of the beam table is some kind of optics holder with two inputs and one output at strange angles, reminds me of the part to the left in this picture (prodjallens pic!)

Stone mountain Lasers, thanks! I'll try to see if there is modle nr on the scanners also. There is som kind of geometric correction board on one of the scanner amps, could be useful.

I'll try to get that big generator going, will be a fun project!
I'll have to convert from 110 to 230V first but I have som transformers I think.

The actuators looks well built though, real ballbearings and good machining. Will try them!

Did som more testing, the galvos and amps didn't let out any smoke when powered on but need input signals. I found the input header, just need to trace some connections.
The galvos are General Scanning GS120DI (or DT?)

I took out and cleaned a lot of the thorlabs and melles hardware, nice stuff!
There seems to have been som kind of big optics in front of the scanners, there are two melles griot holders that have held something thin, about 6x6 inch in dimension.
Gratings or optics to diverge the beam maybe?

The solenoids did not make that much noise, there is apiece of tape/foam to dampen the sound. They worked fine of 12V and draws 0,5A. Oldshcool beamtable coming up maybe!

    Continuing my monologue...

I fired up a variac and fed 115V to the scanner, both galvos work but one scanner amp does not light up. I'll hope to fix it soon, electronics is my thing and I got one working amp to compare against!

Does anybody know how many kpps the GS120 and these amps are capable of? They are made in 1997 so they are not that ancient.

the G120's could do 30kpps with turbotracks... dont know what amps those are... I would hazard a guess that they probably did 24k but who knows...

also that board with a billion pots on it looks like a geometric corrector

    thanks for the info!
It is a geometric corrector, i'll play around with it when i have fixed the other amp.

The galvo amplifier was an easy fix, turned out to be a corroded fuse socket and a broken toroid transformer. I will try them out in a couple of days.

I also refurbished one of the solenoids, it works very well and looks great when the rust and dust is gone!
