    Default Thermistor

I,m working on my own module and i wondered if someone can shine some light on this matter. I wondered whats the best place to the thermistor. I can imagine that you want it just above the tec but maybe i,m wrong. If someone can help me out that would be great.

    Thanks!!!!!

    Default Thermistor placement

I understand the best placement is as close you can get to the laser diode package (backside) itself.

    Hi Johan,

According to Robin (the creator of the die4chill is in the mounting block of the diode, as close as possible to the tec).

I drilled it in your module in the small ridge between the 2 plastic risers (the small 2 a 3mm edge on the underside, drilled a 1,5mm hole, put the thermister in witch thermal glue and expoxy'd the wires in between the 2 posts on the block.\s underside.
that way you have all the wires coming of the back of the module.
    I didn't fail !
I just found out 10,000 ways that didn't work.

It depends on the type of tec driver you are using.. If it's a pid driver, you need the thermister as close to the diode as possible. If it's a on off type driver like the die 4 chill, it should be as close to the tec as possible to avoid temperature fluctuations..

    Hey Johan,
When is your trip to BCN ? I didn't know you were visiting my neck of the woods.
I am in UK right now but it would be cool to meet there depending on dates.
    Cheers
    PS.
    Sorry to get off thread

    Hey Johan,

Just to add, i forgot to say.
First after fitting the thermistor i ran it without the diode running.
I had a new DMM connected to my laptop, saved the output files.
1 hour measurements taken every 30 secs, it kept it between 19,8 and 19,4.
Then i turned on diode (510mA factory set current), worked like a charm.
Temps never went over 20 or under 19. Also measured over an hour.
Excellent piece of kit buddy, speak to you soon, need better lenses then my standard Aixiz, but the beam is cool, module even cooler.
    Excellent stuff, nice quality !

    Hey hobbybob, a quick question?

    How about some pics

    Cheers
