    Default First laser show project

I've been getting more interested in laser shows and would like to buy or build a small show. I've glued mirrors to electromagnetic motors to get some cool tunnels and such but I'm looking for a little bit more control. I've got a price range of a ~$100-200. I've been thinking about getting this kit http://cgi.ebay.com/Laser-SHOW-DJ-Ba...QQcmdZViewItem What do you guys think?

Its a rip off! Really. He didnt make the software, Tom Stock did.

    Heres the software: http://www.photonlexicon.com/hostedc.../lissajous.exe

And as far as the galvos hes offering they are probably $5 stepper motors like these which are available damn near everywhere: http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Laser-Galvo-Sc...QQcmdZViewItem for example.

We like saving money around here.

He really doesnt have any information on the steppers. as such: i have no idea how to drive them.

Find a pair of 12v steppers. Then it will almost be a direct "plug and play" to a stereo amp.

I'll send the guy a message and see what he has to say.

They are actually little vibrating motors from old telephone ringers. They will drive with any home audio amp, and they must be driven AC. You can do about 6K-8K with these, but for the price they are a rip. I would go with a nicer set, if you really want to get into it. Like these: http://cgi.ebay.com/Laser-Light-Show...QQcmdZViewItem

If your willing to up your price range to $300-400 USD then im almost certain I could find you some chinese 10-15K closed loop scanners with everything but the DAC.
