You are too cheap. A guy with your expertize should be making at least double that for consultation services and engineering.

I completely agree. This economy is going to hurt some of the most capable people the hardest. I'm not sure if it is better to have work and be underpaid or to just say screw it and lose everything. It is a really sad state of affairs.
