Default Anyone used one of these?

Found this on ebay fro Meierlight. Does anyone have any hands on experience with it? or have used Meierlight before?

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...ht_1306wt_1037

    Is it worth the cash?

    Cheers

Hum, its a wide ridge, huge chip , c-mount die in front of a simple one or two lens collimator. Has a TE, which explains the huge current draw.

    Quoting the ad:

I have a buddy who has one.

    SPECIFICATIONS
    Wavelength (nm) 650±10

(yup, deep red, probably closer to 656 or 658)

    Output power (mW) >1300
(usually a bit less, most chips are 1 watt nominal if driven to spex.)

    Transverse mode Near TE00
(ha ha ha ha ha ha ha , its tophat at best)

    Operating mode CW
    (yep)

Power stability (rms, over 4 hours) <5%
    (probably honest)

    Warm-up time (minutes) <5
    (probably honest)

    M2 factor <20
(m2 factor greater then 20. One is a perfect "gas laser" beam)
    (a typical dpss is a 2, maybe a 2.5)

Beam divergence, full angle (mrad) <2.5
    (highly optimistic )

Dimensions of beam at the aperture (mm) ~5×8
    (about right)

Beam height from base plate (mm) 24. 8

    Polarization ratio >50:1

Pointing stability after warm-up (mrad) <0.05
(HA HA HA HA HA )
    Operating temperature () 10~35
    Power supply (90-264VAC )
    Analog modulation , 10kHz

    (YUP)
    Expected lifetime (hours) 10000
(Not with the diode mount I saw, 800-1000 is a more reasonable figure, if its expressed as a MTBF, it aint no LED as far as lifetime goes, and the case is not that well sealed. My buddiy has one and the lens popped out of the RTV holding it at about collimation)
    Warranty 1 year

Its a beam show laser for close up shows with beams to say 35 feet.

do you have scanner mirrors that will fit a 8mm by 5mm beam?

    i have a lasever 350mw 635nm module gives a beam of 8mm by 5mm at apeture.

i probably lose 40% off the scanner mirrors.

I bought a 500mW version of this flashlight about a year ago, I made an offer and got it 30% cheaper. I use it just for beam shows on a scanner with larger mirrors and for what I paid I can't complain. I just recently measured the power @ >700mW, hell for 250$ back then, why not?
