Default 445 Wiring - Noob needs help

    Hello everyone.
I am new to this so I want to be extra careful not burning up anything on the first try.

I have read the manual that come with the FlexMod, but I would like to get alittle more info befor I procide. I see that I can power this FlexMod 5-24V, but I would like some more precise value.
Is it better to run it at 5 or 24V?
For me it would be greate if someone told me to input 12V here, and 5V there.

I made a dirty drawing, could someone please help me put some numbers on the powersupply/powersupplys.

There isnt really a point to running it off 24v unless you have a number of series diodes. 12V would be perfect. The modulation input should be 0-5v - other than that, it all looks fine

    Yes

Input modulation is from 0 to 5 Volts Max. Is nice to work in adjustments with the modulation with minimum Volts, around 1V or less. (i.e. adjusting focus, alignment etc.)
And don't forgot to adjust Max. and Min. current with 5V and 0V before connecting your LD.

    Good luck

About the current min and max.
What values should I aim at?

I guess that I should set 0Bias when the M+ is at ~1V (like megaton said).
And the Gain to set the max (m+ at 5V)

Is the laser of at 1V (m+) or is is starting to glow?

Do you guys turn it on and of with the Interlock or M+ ?

No the 0Bias Is set at M+ 0V (in the info is put to ground).
And for the min current I put the LD and adjust just to the minimum of Light.
Take out the LD and measure the current and take note.
And for the Max. If you have a good heat sink for your 445 and no TEC.
    I don't go more than 1 Amp.(M+ at 5V).
After that adjust again your 0Bias with the value that you take note.
And again your Max. (they interact a little).
The interlock stays always connected.(or in the safety circuit).
On and off is made with the M+ (is not TTL) so you can put it in the middle or whatever you like.
~1V for your optical adjustments, sorry to be not clear on that. (focus your lens etc...is easy).
(Less output Power more safe for your eyes when adjusting).
    And sorry for my English

    Nice Pics

Yes all look fine electrically. Except for the Aixis housing
How do you plan to mount that?(with a big heat sink).
BTW Dave make excellent Diode mounts and you don't have to press the Diode in to the housing.
I put mine on those mounts.(pics)
    Cheers

PS I also gone to put 300Devil LaserBugs in my new one.

The diod is already pressed in to the housing with the lens. but I was planing on making some aluminum housing to put everything in. I can make a drawing.
Do you know where I can get this prisms to make the beem round?
Would also like to get some optics, beem splitters, beem joiners etc.
