Ive been so busy playing with red siice the 445 diode came about ive not done anything with it.

so ive put red builds on hold for a short time whilst i think about designs and started a 445 build

Cool and simple !

I assume TEC goes under diode mount, ( but that driver ?, no thermistor hole ? )

Is that a 9mm, 50 thread in the holes or are the optics going in with some kind of sleeved holder ?

no tec

the lens hole has not been tapped yet, but the lens will screw directly into the housing

I too am of the opinion that TEC cooling is not necessary with these diodes when mounted in a suitable heatsink such as this. Keeps the whole thing a lot simpler...

My current experiments with a similar sized block of ali does not even require the fan I first fitted.

Yea....I do NOT think A TEC is needed !!! MAX stabillity of PO or NM oututput is not that critical for projector application !!!...See : Copper is Proper Blah, Blah !!

Prisms or Cylindrical corrective optics ????? Set up looks very GOOD !!! Terra watt sez bow WOW !
