    That would be a really fun thing for my kids to do. Who am I kidding, I want to do it myself!

    It is funny that Norty found this video footage from Newburgh, NY and I used to live 30 minutes from there. It is getting to be a really small world. Thanks Norty!

    You encase the payload in styrofoam to keep it warm, which also makes it soft and means it falls at a lot less than 150 mph.
    I thought that was irrelevant at the high altitude because of the thin air - hence why it fell so quickly even with the parachute deployed.

    As it got lower it would've slowed significantly in the denser air.

    So we should aim to set our ballons off on same day ! or at a LEM so theres double trouble
    maybe a few others will build there own too ! if we can source enough information

    Where to obtain BALLOON !

    You could buy a cheap laser crab and beat Nasa by having the 1st laser projector in space.

    Wonder what the CAA would make of the NOTAM Submission though.

    If the parahcute failed on the way down you could also make history as the 1st person ever killed by a falling fast food carton! It would be very fast food!

    One other thought, send up a raw potato and omit the parahcute, then you'd have a baked potato when it came down!
