Well we don't necessarily forget about the hobbyists, or for that matter, anyone else. As you may know, we open up BETA trials to people, often in exchange for their feedback or creating artwork to run on it. We'd certainly be interested in LEGITIMATE people (not just lookee-loos) wanting to participate in trials, testing, etc. I am sure people on this forum will agree that we have been very generous in this area...

MasterPJ, please contact me using the contact form at www.pangolin.com/contact and we'll discuss this by direct email.

It's a figure of speech. 'he doesn't get drunk with a whole bottle of whiskey, FORGET about getting him drunk with a lite beer'

I was not implying anyone actually forgets about hobbyists or that lite beer exists.

Well I got 2 fun and also usefull idea's that havent been done.

    First of al :
    DirectX application to laser.
    Opengl to laser
And i mean like running a random application and then traces it.
Well not like tracing just what you see on the screen. but like actually being able to access the 3D data and then trace it *more accurate*

    Second:
How about a tracing program for a video file that will ask you to draw a mask on top of an object in a video and then it keeps focus on that and traces that only *or a specific colour*
then another mask for tracing the outline of that only and maybe also in one colour.

Once the frame changes too much for the application to keep track of it or the scene totally changes.
It will prompt you to redraw the mask or draw on a new object to keep focus on.

One that has been done but can be done for like a free program is:
    Realtime tracing.
Im not sure if there exist a laserprogram that can do it... however I don't know one myself.
A cheap or free realtime tracing program would be nice.

(to trace a specfic area on your screen in realtime)

You do a good job with Spagetti though Gary. Helps a lot of people who can't afford more complex controllers.

I think Utopia did it before. I hope your new 3d software will not cost $4500
Also Max converter is not stand alone. So it's useless for people with different laser controllers. I got TraceIT stand alone and I use it a lot.
I hired an Italian guy to do my wires. Now they look like spaghetti!

Stepmania on laser would be better =3
    Why?
    -well more songs,
    - you can either put the arrows or change them to something else. *different skin*
    - It's also open source

If you like frets on fire..
I heavly recommend you try playing stepmania *sorry for that going a bit off topic*

I was being more than a bit sarcastic with my post. The motivation for most amateurs and DIYers here is not to be the first to do something but to do it in an affordable way. Reminds me of the recent balloon in space camera video that is here. NASA has been going up that high and taking pictures for decades. But, I think the that ingenuity and cheapness of the balloon idea is certainly as interesting and deserves merit.
