Hi masterpj, this has been possible (and works quite well) with illustrate! plugin and ILD SOS, even with animation. ILD SOS takes care of the point placement automatically.
Maybe you found a different way?

Ahh, and only 10 years after we did it. Cool!

Hehe. How about a way to do it without 3ds max and also without "pangolins max converter"?

I think it will be a long time before anyone duplicates this. It's currently 1 million lines of code (and counting)...

There is no question, I definitely agree that this takes the cake. An accomplishment to be proud of for a company of your size, forget about hobbyists even dreaming of creating it. People should see that the investment put into that program exceeds even the program itself and overflows into the concept of Pangolin's leadership in the 3D laser animation arena.

So depressing. As a developer, it makes me want to kill myself. Sigh.

There's always something to be found ^^
Keep that spirit and you'll be fine.
Like better use of multiple projectors to do a show.
For example 1 ilda that's ment for 1 projector and that gets split up and then lasered with a special algorythm and good calibration methods so it's aligned.

    *just an example*

    Dear Pangolin.
I have to admit pangolin max converter is the best.
I like to see pangolin being inovative and you people at pangolin deliver good software.
Pangolin max converter is special and i've read the info about it.

However I use easylase, pangolin is still to expensive for me... even though it will give you an advantage once you make that big investement.

I myself am a 3D artist and work with 3ds max.
I would love to use pangolin products and especially max converter, but it's just too expensive for me.

If I'd ever be able to buy it: I will.
I also have a slight request to pangolin:
Could you make a demo version of it?
For example cripple it by not being able to save to ilda or/and
Make it so it's limited to an amount of frames.

It would love to see it working without looking at my screen or a video. ^-^

    *edit*
However there are still things in the laserworld to be discovered.
I speculate that it will be something else than only pangolin

    Just keep coding developers.
I will also think of some idea's
and when an idea comes boiling up i'd be happy to share it.

Im not an coder myself... But i'm planning on learning it ^^
